Do not use this form to request
Interlibrary Loan material, or as an order request.
Request In-Process or On-Order material by either completing the
Online Request Form for
In-Process or On-Order Material above, or by asking for a hard
copy of the green "Request for In-Process Material" flier at a service
desk near you.
If using the online form, click on the "Submit" button when you
have completed filling it out. Your form request will not be submitted
unless you have filled in at least the Requestor's Name,
Title and Pick-Up Library areas.
Supply as much information as you can about the item for best
results.
Explanatory Text for Requested Information
- "Need By" Date REQUIRED
- Provide a "deadline" date, in any form, by
which you need to have the item you are requesting. Please be
aware that if the item is still on order, we will do our best
to rush the order through, but you may still have a waiting
period that extends beyond your deadline date, especially if
you need the item quickly. A staff person will notify you if
this is the case, so be sure to include your contact information
in the form.
- Requestor's Name REQUIRED
- Provide the name of the person requesting the In-Process or
On-Order item.
- Access/User ID
- Provide the ID portion of your Penn State Access Account e-mail
address. For example, in the e-mail address xyz123@psu.edu,
the Access/User ID portion is xyz123.
- E-Mail Address
- If possible, please provide a current e-mail address that we can use to contact
you if we have a question, problem or delay with your request. We ask that you provide at least one form of contact information. If you don't have an email address or prefer we don't email you, please provide a phone number where you can be reached or where we can leave a message for you if needed.
- Phone Number
- Provide a phone number that we can use to contact
you if we have a question, problem or delay with your request. We ask that you provide at least one form of contact information. If you prefer we don't call you, please provide an email address where you can be reached if needed.
- Author
- If applicable, provide the name of the author of the item
you are requesting. If the item has more than one author, it
is only necessary to provide one.
- Title REQUIRED
- Provide the title of the item you are requesting.
- Call Number
- Provide the Call Number for the item you are requesting. It
can be found in The CAT above the title in the Brief Titles
List after you perform a search, or at the bottom of the WebCat
display of the bibliographic record for the requested item in
the Material/Shelf Location section. Example: LB1049.F63

Note: Some In-Process and On-Order Items will not have
an actual call number in the record, but a system generated
number instead (e.g., XX(3202505.1)). It is not necessary to supply this number in
the form.
- Pick-Up Library REQUIRED
- Specify the Penn State Library at which you would like to
pick up the requested item. See list of possible locations below.
- Title Control Number/Item ID
- Optional - For Staff use. If you are assisting a patron fill
out the form and are viewing the record for the item being requested
in WorkFlows, provide the Title Control Number found in the
Control record, or, if applicable, you may provide the item's
Item ID, found in the Vol/Copy record in WorkFlows. It may be
an actual barcode number or a system generated hyphenated number (e.g., 3202506-1001).
Please note that not all items On-Order or In-Process will have
a copy record with an Item ID.
