Rare Books Room Collection Codes and Qualifiers

This table lists collection codes used for Rare Books Room items. "Code" specifies the correct two-letter mnemonic used in the holdings area of our local call number field. "Collection name" cites the official name of the collection. "Abbreviation/Qualifier" indicates the shorthand form of the Collection name, used on the LIAS status screen and written in the book beneath the local call number.

There are several groups of material which are not Collections, but which have shelflist cards filed together for retrieval purposes. The packets for these items often have a Collection name, but they are not true collections; the collection code should always be "rb." They include:
