If a matching record is found in The CAT for an item in hand but the only Vol/Copy record contains ACQUISTNS as the Library and/or ORDERED or ON-ORDER as the Home Location, consider it a new title. The record found was input to support an online order record for the title and the item has not yet been received and/or cataloged.

Records having INPROCESS as the Home Location but a system generated Item ID (e.g., 1127817-8001) may also be order records. The call number may be system generated (e.g., XX(1127817.9)) or a legitimate call number. Check all the information provided carefully. Sometimes actual holdings are mistakenly added to order records that have not been reviewed and updated.
