Titles Group

Wizards in this group allow editing of all portions of a record: Bibliographic, Call Number, and Item.

Modify Title Wizard

Maintenance Functions
• Correct typos in bib record
• Create/edit/delete a MARC holdings record
• Correct/edit Call Number Info
• Correct/edit Copy Info (e.g., fix barcodes, location changes/transfers, withdrawals)
• Add comment to item record in Extended information section

Delete Titles, Call Numbers or Items Wizard

Maintenance Functions
• Delete Call Number/Item records
  
  Limit actual deletions to error records or temporary brief records input using the Add Brief Title Wizard when they are no longer needed; DO NOT DELETE RECORDS OF LAST COPY WITHDRAWALS of fully cataloged items.

Call Number and Item Maintenance

The Call Number and Item Maintenance Wizard allows partial editing of records. It is used to Add or Edit Call numbers and Item information. Bibliographic information cannot be edited with this wizard.

Maintenance Functions
• Add a new location if the title has already been fully cataloged for at least one location
• Correct/edit Call number information
• Correct/edit Item information (e.g., fix barcodes, location changes/transfers, withdrawals)
• Add comment to item record in Extended information section

Items Group

Wizards in this group allow limited editing of records in the Item information section only. Bibliographic and Call Number information cannot be edited with the wizards in this group.

Add Item Wizard

Maintenance Functions
• Add a second, third, etc. copy of an item for a location already on the record

Edit Item Wizard

Maintenance Functions
• Correct/edit Item information (e.g., fix barcodes, location changes/in-house transfers, withdrawals)
• Add comment to item record in Extended information section

Global Item Modification

The Global Item Modification wizard is best used when one or more of the same types of edits need to be made on multiple volumes/titles. It can be especially useful when transferring items to/from the Annex or another area of your Library, such as ref to stacks or stacks to ref. See the Global Item Modification Word document.

Add Brief Title

The Add Brief Title wizard is found in the Circulation module toolbar's Items Group and is used to add a brief record with call number and item information to The CAT. See the Add Brief Title page for more information on when and how to use this wizard.
