SmartPort : RLIN Clusters
Step 1: Make your initial search and view the record. SmartPORT will always bring up the first record in a cluster.

First record in RLIN cluster

Step 2: Uncheck the formatted box. This will show all the MARC field numbers.

Step 3: Scroll down and look for 952 fields. The 952 contains the RLIN-ID and name of library holding this title.

Step 4: Double-click on the 952a subfield of the RLIN record you wish to view. This will put the search term RLIN-ID "[RLIN ID number]" in the search field and SmartPort will search it automatically. In this example we decided to search for RLIN-ID XBCP9936206B, Blackwell North America, enhanced CIP records.

Step 5: View the record. We now have obtained a record other than the first one in the cluster.

A different record in the same RLIN cluster

If you need to get back to the first record in the cluster to see what other records are available in the cluster, you can re-search for it by clicking on the Histories button in the toolbar on the left side of the screen, highlighting the appropriate search and then click on the Search button.

The Histories button looks like this: SmartPORT Histories Button

For more about Histories, see: Miscellaneous Topics in SmartPORT: Histories and Searching Strategies
