Libraries Annexes: Off-Site Shelving Facilities |
|
| Requesting Annexed Material | |
Additional Information The library annexes are off-site shelving facilities where lesser-used library materials are stored to relieve congestion in the Libraries. They also provide a controlled environment to help preserve fragile materials. Collections held at off-site shelving locations are not arranged in order for browsing and are accessible only to staff. Requests for delivery of book materials and scanned articles are processed Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Annex staff may send a volume in lieu of copy. The volume will be checked out to the user's library account. An email will be sent when the volume is ready to be picked up. Current Faculty, Staff, Students should be registered library users and are expected to understand and comply with the Penn State Libraries Policies and Lending Code. Use ILLiad to request annexed items where the "I Want It" does not work. Visitors Visitors who do not have a library card or where the "I Want It" does not work, need to seek assistance at a service desk. To help with requesting, you can print a copy of the Annex Request Form to complete and take to a Service or Circulation desk at any library location. Requested materials will be delivered to the campus or branch library location or to the Pattee Lending Services circulation area for service desks in Pattee and Paterno Libraries. The material may be used in-house or by other arrangements with the service desk assisting you. If driving from an off-campus location, please contact a service desk and submit your request(s) to them in advance. It may take at least two work days for delivery of annexed material to the service desk location assisting you.
