Getting Started

  • Note: Logon to this database is not by Penn State autentication using your Access UserID and Access password. The first time you enter, you are recognized by your Access UserID only - not your password. This is at the box "First Time Penn State Users, enter your PSU Access Userid". However, once in the database, you will create a username (or ID) and a password for ingenta. We recommend that you do not use your Access password.
  • To Begin: Select logon box at
"First time Penn State users, enter your PSU Access Userid:"
  • Enter your Penn State Access userid, which is three letters followed by numbers.
    (for example, aaa1234)
  • Once Ingenta accepts your Access User ID you will be greeted by a personal registration screen.
It is here that you create your password. We recommend that you do not use your Penn State Access password. You can also change your user id. You will need to supply a fax number in your profile.

Logon problems?

  • Are you registered with the Libraries?
If you are not registered with the Libraries, your userid was not supplied to Ingenta.
Contact Interlibrary Loan to be added to Ingenta. You can register with the Libraries at any circulation desk.
  • You may have two profiles created.
Try logging on with each profile
  • You may not have your correct userid or password.
Use the link "Forgot your password?" on the ingenta logon page. It is located under the userid and password logon boxes. You will be prompted to fill in either your email address, username (user id), or both. Within moments, your username and password will be sent to you via emai.

For problems or questions, contact Interlibrary Loan for assistance.
