MS. Locke f. 19
A bound volume used by Locke for adversaria and other notes.
It forms the third of Lockes earlier series of adversaria notebooks;
the number 3 is written on the fore-edge.
The volume has been rebound by the Bodleian and the pastedowns inside the covers are not extant.
Locke began the book with notes on Thomas Williss lectures
as Sedleian Professor on Natural Philosophy in 1661/62 (pp. 1ff).
Pages 1-5 are headed Willis præl: and this same designation follows many of the notes
on subsequent pages.
On p. 5, Locke begins taking notes under keyword headings, following his method of commonplacing;
the index to the book is at p. [396c-d].
None of the notes is dated, but they seem to date from c. 1664-1669;
the latest date of publication cited is 1669.
