The Sensory Study Room (Eiche 203) is designed to provide a sensory-friendly space to help individual students focus and study. The room includes a variety of seating options, including an Egg Chair, study table, and a desktop computer or laptop port to support a variety of studying needs. Sensory friendly items also include fidget items, sound mixer, noise cancelling headphones, bubble tower, colored lights, and mood sunglasses. A SAD therapy light is also available for those long winter months.

The Sensory Study Room can be booked by individuals for a 2-hour reservation. The room is also the location of Penn State Altoona’s Peer Advocacy Program.

In addition, the library has two Sensory Study Kits available for a 4-hour check out. These kits allow students to create their own sensory friendly space. They include noise cancelling headphones, multi-colored lights, noise machines, and fidget items.
