Abstract:
Irwin Richman received a doctorate in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1965, while working for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. In 1968, he joined the founding faculty of the American studies program at Penn State Harrisburg, Capitol College, teaching until his retirement in 2003.
Abstract:
This collection consists primarily of research notes and files of the historian Irwin Richman concerning American arts and architecture, Pennsylvania Dutch arts and crafts, the history of the Hudson River Valley and Catskills, and history of medicine in Pennsylvania. The collection also contains his correspondence and some academic and administrative records.
