Joseph A. Salem, Jr., Ph.D., Associate Dean for Learning, Undergraduate Services, and Commonwealth Campus Libraries
Joseph’s position is focused on the University Libraries role in the undergraduate education and experience at all Penn State campuses, including the World Campus. He provides administrative oversight of the Penn State Commonwealth Campus Libraries at the 20 Penn State locations across the Pennsylvania Commonwealth, including CCL Information Commons and the Knowledge Commons of the Pattee/Paterno Library at the University Park Campus.

The primary assignment of the Senior Director of Commonwealth Campus Libraries and Strategic Projects is:
- Oversight of Penn State University's Commonwealth Campus Libraries (CCL) in 20 geographic locations
- Management of CCL faculty dossier development and oversight of CCL faculty and staff annual performance review process
- Implementation of the University Library's 2014-2019 strategic plan
- Organization of Global Librarianship initiatives for the University Libraries
Chris holds a B.S. in Sociology from Texas A&M University, a M.S. in Applied Social Research from Texas Christian University, and received her M.L.S. from the University of Texas at Austin.
