Songs with Vocal Range

  1. Vocal range (high, medium, low, etc.) must be stated on the piece; the processor will not formulate one. A specific voice, e.g., soprano, alto, bass, should not be transcribed as high, medium, low, etc. in the description or 090 field.

  2. Input a separate LIAS record for each score or set of scores for each vocal range. Do not combine different vocal ranges on the same record. For example, a set of songs published for high and low voice should be input as two records, one for high voice and one for low voice.

  3. If there is a vocal range (high, medium, low, etc.) stated on the item and it does not appear as part of the title in the 245 field, input as a 254 field.

  4. Add one of the following media to the call no.:
  • high
  • med.high
  • medium
  • med.low
  • low
