Library History

Penn State's first library collection consisted of approximately 1,500 volumes in agriculture and the sciences and was housed in Old Main, along with most other college facilities. The overcrowding finally was relieved by construction of the Carnegie Library, a gift of steel magnate and college trustee Andrew Carnegie. ...Read the Library History

Visitor Wireless

As a visitor to our campus, you may access free AT&T wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) service from your personal computer or other wireless enabled device at any participating visitor wireless location.

A new visitor network “psu-guest” is now available at residence halls across all Penn State campuses as well as the Nittany Lion Inn and The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center at University Park.  This network will eventually replace the current guest network “attwifi” and will be accessible to all visitors at all locations across each Penn State campus. Both guest networks may be used in residence halls, but visitors must connect to “attwifi” if they wish to use wireless outside of on-campus housing.
