The Committee on Cataloging: Description & Access (CC:DA) will meet twice at the 2008 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim.

Please note that the Fri., June 27, 2008 Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access Meeting on RDA Draft listed in ALA’s Event Planner will NOT be held as there is no draft out for review at this time.
On Saturday the main agenda item will be the report of the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee, who will present his report on the April 2008 JSC meeting; that item will be followed by the report of the Library of Congress Representative. Later CC:DA will hear reports from Cindy Hepfer, ALA Representative to NISO, and David Miller, Chair of the ALCTS Task Group on the LC Working Group Report. The last item of the day will be a discussion of the Report of the Task Force to Review the Statement of International Cataloguing Principles.
On Monday CC:DA will hear reports from Donald Chatham, of ALA Publishing Services; Shawne Miksa, Chair of the RDA Implementation Task Force; Everett Allgood, MARBI representative; Peter Fletcher, representative of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging's Standing Committee on Standards; Laura Smart, Chair of the Task Force on CC:DA’s Internal and External Communication; and Patricia Hatch, CC:DA Webmaster.
For those primarily interested in RDA, the RDA Update Forum will be held Saturday, June 28, 10:30 am-noon in the Anaheim Marriott, Salon E and the program “Getting Ready for RDA and FRBR: What You Need to Know” will be held Saturday, June 28, 4-5:30 pm, in the Anaheim Convention Center, Room 204B.

CC:DA Public, Read-Only Email Discussion List
CC:DA announces a public, read-only email discussion list to allow non-CC:DA members to view committee work that
takes place between the ALA Annual Conference and ALA Midwinter Meeting.
In order for the committee to do its work efficiently, non-CC:DA members will be able read CC:DA email, but will
not be able to post messages. However, ideas and comments on discussions are welcome, and can be funneled to the list through
your CC:DA representative or liaison via the committee roster.
To subscribe to the list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the phrase
"subscribe rules" in the subject line and the body of the message blank. Your email address will be captured automatically.
